The fuses which perform thermal protection by cutting off the circuit in case of overload, activate the bimetal element mechanism that is bended under the effect of high temperature. This allows the main contacts to be separated. At the same time, in case of high currents or short circuit, the piston inside the coil triggers the mechanism during the magnetic changes and cuts off the circuit. So the magnetic shielding starts.
